Exploring London’s extensive canal and river network is easy from Limehouse Basin. The Regent’s Canal is accessed immediately to the north of the Basin and winds its way over 8 ½ miles through East to West London. The route passes through Islington, King’s Cross, Regent’s Park, Paddington and on to Little Venice where it meets the start of the Grand Union Canal. From here you can continue on to Brentford and join the River Thames or travel north to Birmingham. Alternatively, cruising out of the Basin to the east along the Limehouse Cut will provide access to the Rivers Lee & Stort. From here you can explore the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park by boat or, enjoy the rich habitats and open spaces within the Lee Valley Regional Park. |
